Today's Member of the Month is Melanie Henley. Melanie works at Hazel Green Elementary in Hazel Green, AL. She has been a school librarian for 6 years.
We asked Melanie some questions about her experience as a school librarian and we would like to share them with you.
What's your favorite thing about your job as a school librarian?
I love working with the students to help them discover new adventures through books. I also love to help students develop a love of reading that they will keep with them even after they leave my school.
Name one children's book that you couldn't live without in your library.

Tell us why you decided to join the Elementary Librarian Community. What's your favorite thing about it?
I decided to join the community for ideas to help enhance my library curriculum and to help expand while refreshing my lessons. I love the resources and how they are easily adapted to my students.
What's the biggest challenge you're currently facing when it comes to your school library?
If you could give one piece of advice to a brand new school librarian (or someone considering becoming a school librarian), what would it be?
The biggest challenge is being able to keep up with the new and emerging technology that is out there for my students.
