I dabbled in centers last year, but after listening today, I feel like I'm ready to take the leap and get my library moved that way. I have my younger classes for 25 minutes, twice a week, and my older classes once a week for 50 minutes. I'm anxious to get things organized and going for this year!

Good information. I am in the process of implementing centers and was having trouble with timing. I tried making a center for book check-out but still ran into people not checking out before period ends. Your podcast sparked an idea and I will begin with checkout the first 10-15 minutes of class then move into direct instruction, followed by centers.

I have started modifying some of your lesson plans for my library. They are working great. I only have them in the library for 25 minutes then I have to move them into the computer lab for lessons there. So the plan to set up the stations for the month seems to be the way I will need to go. Love the podcasts as well. It is fun to hear your voice as well as read what you have written. I also am the test area for our entire building so 3 times a year my classes have to change to accommodate the time it takes to give these common assessments. Using some of your plans I believe with help make this a smooth period!
