Today's Member of the Week is Sherone Barnes. Sherone works at William Beanes Elementary in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She has been a school librarian for three years.
We asked Sherone some questions about her experience as a school librarian and we would like to share them with you.
What's your favorite thing about your job as a school librarian?
My favorite part about being a librarian is introducing student to books and the joy of reading.

Tell us why you decided to join the Elementary Librarian Community. What's your favorite thing about it?
When I decided to join the Elementary Librarian Community I was needing resources for teaching. The resources on the site are also my favorite thing.
What's the biggest challenge you're currently facing when it comes to your school library?
I would have to say that my biggest challenge is having an open library. Since my library is open their are constantly interruptions to the environment.
If you could give one piece of advice to a brand new school librarian (or someone considering becoming a school librarian), what would it be?
Be creative and allow your students to have fun. They won't realize that they are learning at the same time.
